I absolutely whizzed through the Rob Rinder book I borrowed from the library. I literally couldn't put it down ! It was just as well really because I've been feeling a little delicate due to a flare up of my IBS and have had to try to relax a bit this last week. I'm due to have a blood test to rule out other problems but the earliest appointment I can get for this is 3rd October 😟 Not ideal when you are in pain and it needs investigating.....
Anyway, I have another library book to read. I've read all of Trisha Ashley's books but this one is a bit different......
Meanwhile, I'm having to be very careful what I eat. There's no spicy food, cooked tomatoes, raw onions, lentils, and I've cut down on bread, cheese and sugar. There's no cheeky glass of wine with a meal either. I'm feeling very sorry for myself 😢

Thanks for popping in and do stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗
IBS is a miserable condition to live with, hope you get sorted soon. PS thank you for the stamps!
ReplyDeleteThank you ,Ang, and you are more than welcome 😊
DeleteI've not read the latest Rob Rinder book, too tight to pay full price for it as its not in our local library. Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI really didn't want to pay the £12 asking price in Sainsbury's so was over the moon to pick it up off the shelf in our library. I hope you can find a copy soon.
DeleteThank you for your good wishes, Marlene.
Do hope you get sorted out soon and start to feel better. Have you tried ringing Dr's again to ask if there is a cancellation list you could be put on, it might lead to an earlier appointment. I'm reading Veronica Henry's How to find Love in a Bookshop and have just finished The Garden of Memories by Amanda James. I'm a quick reader. Xx
ReplyDeleteWe have to book blood tests online direct with the hospital phlebotomy dept via a third party website now. Very confusing and I took the earliest appointment they had.
DeleteOh, I really like Veronica Henry too but I haven't read that one. Must look out for it. Amanda James is new to me but I'm willing to try!
Thank you Gill xx
If that was your first Rob Rinder you have two more to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHope the IBS flare up settles very soon
I read his first book, Sue, then missed the second somehow. I think I'll try the library for it.
DeleteThanks for your good wishes 🙏
I'm a great Trisha Asley reader; her books all have a very similar outline, but I enjoy the different spin each time, and love her off-beat way with words
ReplyDeleteShe seems like a lovely person too, doesn't she, Kirsten. I feel so sorry that she is is now losing her eyesight. Her son, Robin, is fantastic at supporting her with technical stuff too.
DeleteSo sorry to hear that you're having an IBS flare up. I hope you feel better, soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bless
DeleteSorry to hear about the IBS. As a fellow sufferer I can say honestly I feel your pain! It's also exhausting and dispiriting. Of course you should be medically checked out but may I suggest you have a look into the low FODMAP diet - which is NHS recommended. It helped me. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip, Mary, I'm so sorry to hear that you are a sufferer too. It's no fun at all is it.
DeleteSo sorry you are suffering. IBS runs in our family both my sisters and one niece suffer with it. I find since my gall bladder was removed certain foods upset my system especially onions cooked or raw, same with peppers and very spiced food - no more curries sadly. Hope you are soon feeling better. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue, I think onions have a bad effect on me too although I seem to be ok with sweet bell peppers. Chilli's are quite another thing! I really feel for your suffering family members too :0(
DeleteI hope you are soon feeling better, and that you can somehow manage the wait until 3rd October. Reading and relaxing sound like a very good idea in the meantime. Take care. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue, reading is really helping to take my mind off the issue. (A good excuse to escape the housework anyway...lol...)
DeleteExtra special hugs sent to you, Angie x
