What a week: Crisis, thanks, and other news....

Well, what a flippin' week we've had.  We seem to have lurched from one crisis to another in the space of a few days. More about that in a moment......

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to commenters on my last post.  You have been encouraging, kind and just flaming all round marvellous 😀 with encouragement as well as practical help.  Kim....do not despair....I'll find a way to contact you!

Reasons to be worried:

There is a close family crisis that I cannot help with but am desperately worried about, and

Our Son was admitted to hospital in Australia for an emergency appendectomy ( close to bursting) and now has related on-going health issues to cope with.  Again, I am desperately worried about him but am too far away to help,

----------------

Reasons to be grateful:

We have the internet and I can message my Son to find out how he is

Graham has, at last, had a hospital letter with an appointment at Neurology clinic at the end of the week

All our crops are in the ground at the allotment and we've been harvesting rhubarb by the ton!

I have another batch of cards for the Hospice.  Here's a sample.....

And here's Graham fixing our electric socket so that I can use the computer 😍

I was a bit scared he might blow all the fuses but I needn't have worried.  It was fine.... 😌

Now all we need is RAIN ☔⛈ for the gardens and farmers.

---------------

I mentioned before that we have one really decent treat per month.  Well, it happens TOMORROW NIGHT !  I'm very excited and will tell you all about it in my next post.  I can't wait (doing a happy dance) 😉

Thanks so much for popping in.  Do stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗

  1. Hi Angie, so sorry to hear about your son. I hope he starts to feel better soon and that his ongoing problems will also improve. Glad Graham has got an appointment at last.
I think I have sorted out my email address on my blog profile. If you go in and check it, my email address should start with 'nos'.
Love the new batch of cards too.

  3. I hope your son continues to improve, it's so hard when they are far away and in a time of need isn't it.
The hospice shop are going to be so pleased to get the card stock replenished. Have you been keeping a count of how many cards you have donated? I gift aid all donations to our local children's hospice shop and then once a year I get a report of how much my items have raised for them. It really adds up.

    1. It is indeed Sue. He's constantly on my mind and I'm so sad not to be able to help him.

Re the cards: yes, I keep a record of the number donated 77 since 25th March and I have a further 18 to drop off. That doesn't include the 46 donated to the first charity shop who placed them on a low shelf amongst the tat! They currently sell for £1 each so it's totting up nicely :) Unfortunately, I don't pay tax yet so can't gift aid but it is a great scheme, isn't it.

  4. Prayers for your family. It's horrid to be so far away when family is in trouble.

  6. I'm sorry to read about your son's health battle and the distance you are from him, when all you want to do is give him a big hug. Family crisis always seem to be happening, we've had our fair share of those. Your cards are beautiful and if I lived nearer I'd be buying them. Hope things improve. Xx

    1. Yes, families are always in a state of crisis somehow aren't they. Your kids never get too old to worry about them.

  7. So sorry, missed this post Monday, I hope by now you have heard more that your son is OK and had a nice outing treat.

You come up with some lovely ideas for your cards. No wonder they sell so quickly

  8. I do hope your son is doing better. Having an appendix close to bursting is not at all fun. Lovely cards, you do such a great artistic job of them, and as others have said that is why they sell so very quickly.

    God bless.

  10. I am so sorry to hear about your son. It must be such a worry when he is so far away from you and, as a mum, you just want to be there for him. I hope he improves quickly and long term solutions are found.
Thank you for sharing some of your cards for the hospice. They really are lovely.
