Warming up after the Hospital & More Snow!

Graham had a long awaited hospital appointment just before Christmas with a neurology doctor at a local hospital. He has been waiting for a follow up for some time as he was promised to be referred to The Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham for treatment.  It didn't happen.... and our GP chased it up after a 7 months wait.  Now Gray is back to square one as this appointment was simply another review 😖  We were in the waiting room for more than 2 hours for a 4.40pm appointment.  At one point, I thought we would be locked in as there was no-one else in the waiting room and the cleaning staff were prepping the empty rooms for the next day!  After paying the parking charge of £4.80 we finally left the hospital around 6.45pm into streams of work traffic.  We both felt so fraught that we stopped at the village pub on the way home to warm up and de-stress.  Any excuse 😂 A pot of tea for two by a roaring fire....a bargain @ £2.50 !

----------

It was Gray's birthday yesterday (9th).  He's caught me up at 76!  It snowed heavily again the night before so we are, once more, snowed in.  The post hasn't arrived for two days so no birthday cards other than one pushed through the door by my Sister-in-Law, no bin collection yesterday either and the local schools are closed.  Roll on Spring!

Thanks for popping in.  Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,

Angie 💗

    1. Thank you, Marlene :)
We still have snow here but it's slowly turning to rain so might, hopefully, be gone by Monday. Fingers firmly crossed...

  2. Hope Grahams birthday went well.
Your hospital waiting brought back horrible memories of all the waiting and waiting at Addenbrookes. Appointments often took all day for 10 minutes with the consultant.

    1. Yes, you and Col really went through the mill didn't you, Sue. I remember following you at the time. Truly awful x

  3. Happy Belated Birthday Wishes Graham. OH used to work in Solihull, so quite a drive from Penkridge, he often used to arrive home shaking with the stress of it. Lots of snow here, but managed to get the car out and did a mini shop at Morrisons. Take care. Xx

    1. Driving in weather like this is so stressful. I bet your OH is glad he doesn't have to make that journey now.
      Stay warm xx

  4. Belated birthday wishes to Graham, it was Alan's on the 8th ... our men are getting older. 😄

A warming and de-stressing cup of tea in the pub sounds like it was just what you needed.

  5. Our snow and ice has been rained away thank goodness, still very cold and windy though. Hospital appointments can be so demoralizing can't they. Happy birthday to your husband, I will be 76 this year, gulp, where did the time go? Tea for two by a warm fire sounds just the ticket after a stressful time. Regards Sue H

  6. Happy birthday wishes to Graham, I hope he enjoyed his special day.
It is tiring and frustrating when you have to wait so long for a hospital appointment. I hope you both felt a little better after the pot of tea by a warm fire. 🤗

  7. Happy, belated, birthday to your husband. I'm sorry you had such a long wait at the hospital and the follow up appointment turned out to be more of a review than anything else. A nice cup of tea in front of a roaring fire would have been most welcome, I'm sure. :)
