When we popped to the nearest village for a walk and a bit of fresh air I just couldn't resist browsing the bookshelves in the charity shop. Most books are just 50p each and I quickly spotted this Trisha Ashley and a Miss Read book. I have read Trisha's book before but it was some years ago and I quite fancy reading it again. The Miss Read books are always a nostalgic, gentle read. I also spotted the Richard Armitage one (not sure if I'll like it) and an Evie Woods who is a new-to-me author but, hey....it's a book about books!
On my way to the till I had a quick rummage through the 'tat' box and discovered this cute little cross stitch kit for 50p. I just couldn't leave it behind π
I am still sticking to my £10 per week spending money so now have £7.50 left. Oh... and I got a free coffee with my insurance App. I could even sit inside Greggs in the warm whilst I drank it. Bargain!

Thanks for popping in. Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,

I loved the lost bookshop, it was a great read.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading it, Marlene.
DeleteI'm just working on a little x-stitch I picked up in a CS on Saturday. It will make a good birthday card for somebody.
ReplyDeleteI'm using up my Nectar points as I go along these days - my daughter's card was hacked and she lost nearly £100 which she was saving for Christmas food. Fortunately it was sorted and she did get the points back - but I am being very wary now.
I lock my points. It's simple to do on the Nectar app, and protects them until you're ready to use them.
DeleteOh how awful, Ang, to lose her points to theft. Thank goodness she got it sorted in the end. I know it has happened to a lot of people and you have to scan your actual Nectar card in store to redeem them now.
DeleteYou got some good bargains. I knew Richard Armitage had written some books I might check the library out to see if they have any. I use my Nectar points as I go along, I have heard of people having their points hacked. Honestly what a world! Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteIt's disgraceful isn't it, Sue. I do like to save my points for January though. As you say...what a world π
DeleteI've read 3 out of 4 of your finds - all a while ago, don't know Richard Armitage at all.
ReplyDeleteYour X stitch kit could make a nice little Christmas tree decoration.
Blinkin' cold here today - stay warm
I hadn't thought about making a Christmas tree decoration, Sue, so thanks for the idea. I could use felt to back it and add a bit of stuffing!
DeleteNot surprised that you've read most of my book finds π
A book about books is usually guaranteed to be a good read isn't it. You got some good bargains there. As my current budget is £10 a week all in, it will take a very special book to make me want to buy it for the next few months ... but you know me, I could be tempted. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI just can't help myself when the books are so cheap! I have enough to keep me reading for quite some time!
DeleteI love Miss Read books and have all of them. You will enjoy the Evie Woods book, I did. We have just picked Iris up from school, sausages for tea. Mummy is coming later with Baby C. Have a good week. Xx
ReplyDeleteI hope Iris was fully recovered in time for Christmas, Gill. Schools in our area were all closed today due to snow.
DeleteI'm sure you will enjoy reading your new books and how lovely to get a free cup of coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was very nice, Bless, and all the tastier for being free!
DeleteLovely to have a cup of coffee for free and having it in a warm place. You will enjoy those books.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
