What I'm Reading Now......and other snippets...

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my Mother's Day post. I hope you all had a lovely day.

I'm trying to read a bit more as it helps me to relax and I reserved the new Richard Osman book from the library.....

.....what I failed to spot was that I had reserved the large print version!  Now I can read it easily without putting the lamp on 😆....

Tuesday was our library day and we were lucky enough to get a comfortable booth .  There is a power point in there where you can charge your phone or ipad free of charge, whilst drinking free coffee and nibbling on a free biscuit.  I also collected another reserved book.....

I do love a good Veronica Henry.  Has anyone read this one?

Today (Wednesday) it's beautifully mild and sunny so I'm making sandwiches and we are going to the allotment to put in the onions.  Well...I say 'we'....Gray will be putting in the onions and I'll be running errands in the village whilst he does it.  Then we'll eat our lunch in the shed.  We know how to live it up, don't we!! ?

I'll drop another batch of cards into the shop while I'm at it, making 125 this year.  I'm happy with that....

Thanks for popping in.  Do stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗

  1. Our local library charges £1 to request a book, so often I check out the charity shops, one has 2 books for £1,so I got a few. For the second day we are eating our lunch in the garden, nice and sunny, just a cool breeze.

    1. We have access to 2 libraries; one charges 50p per book, the other is free. Veronica Henry cost me 50p and Richard Osman was free, so I do tend to order more from the free library.
Yes, the weather is gorgeous isn't it, Marlene. We've picked a bit more rhubarb today for our neighbour. The crumble was lovely :)

  2. I love Veronica Henry books, but then love reading, would be lost without a book. I've been trying to use the library more, but still have a large TBR pile. I've spent time in the garden tidying up and we visited the garden centre where I bought some YS plants. The lawn needs mowing but its still too wet. The sunshine here is glorious. Take care. Xx

    1. It's been wonderfully warm and sunny here for the last couple of days. It certainly gives the spirits a lift, doesn't it, Gill. Gray managed to cut the grass one afternoon last week xx

  3. Look at how nice your library is. Ours wants us in and out quickly unless we are attending one of their events. Good for you with all the cards you have made.

    God bless.

  4. You have a very nice library, with free coffee and biscuits. :) I hope you've had a lovely day planting out the onions and dropping off your cards. :)

  5. My sister had an allotment and when I visited in fine weather we would take a packed lunch and go and do some work and stay nearly all day, I loved it. This was in rural Norfolk with a field with ponies in it next door and my sister kept hens on her allotment so lots to see plus of course lots of delicious veg and fruit. I think it's a lovely thing to do, hope you enjoy yourselves. Regards Sue H

    1. Your sister's allotment sounds lovely. Ours is tucked away between two rows of houses but it can be very peaceful, apart from a German Shepherd with a VERY deep bark who insists on ambushing me as I unlock the gate ! He's terrifying :0/
Last year we used to share fish and chips in the shed a couple of times a month but the price went up to £11.40 a portion so we've had to stop it. Sandwiches and a flask are more like it now ! xx
