It was library day yesterday and, despite my reserved book not having come in yet, we went anyway. I took my own current book to read whilst drinking my free coffee and relaxing in a warm, comfortable library......
As luck would have it, I had received an email reminding me about the Odeon cinema's 'Silvers' performance on Tuesday afternoons. This week it was The Choral, set in 1916 and starring Ralph Fiennes, Alun Armstrong, Mark Addy & Roger Allam (from Endeavor) to name but a few famous actors. I booked immediately online. For the princely sum of £2 each we got a ticket for the 1pm showing, a fully reclining seat!, a cup of instant coffee and a wrapped Biscoff biscuit to take in with us. The film was lovely and the seats gave us plenty of room. If I'm too close to the cinema screen I come out with a pounding headache so I had chosen the back row. It was a lovely relaxing couple of hours. We'll definitely go again soon.
It's been a long time since we sat in the back row of a cinema !😂
Today we have the Wednesday club and the theme for the speaker this time is glass production over the centuries. Glass.... another favourite of mine. This time it will be £4 each with drink and biscuit included. We are having a very busy week!

Thanks for popping in. Do stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗

The back row made me smile. I hope your companion didn't get "fresh" with you. Well unless you wanted them to!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!! 🤣😂🤣
DeleteI do want to see The Choral sometime,. I am glad you enjoyed it
ReplyDeleteIt was a really lovely film, Ang, well worth watching
DeleteThat's a bargain for cinema seats! We really enjoyed The Choral. It's stunningly good weather here today. Really warm. We are currently having a wet room fitted so we are going out as much as possible to avoid the drilling noise etc. Tai chi this morning then out to the countryside and lunch at our favourite garden centre/farm shop for the most delicious cheese scones and a coffee. Now back to the noise and dust but they are really cracking on and we can't wait for it all to be finished and brand shiny new. It sounds like you have had a busy time. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI dread having workmen in the house, Sue, so I dont envy you that but I do envy a shiny new wet room! 😁 It should be amazing.
DeleteOoooh Tai Chi 👍 Ive often fancied trying that but we dont have classes in our area, unfortunately.
You seem to be having a lovely busy week too ! 😉
A bargain cinema outing, last time I went it was with Iris, so some animated film. I'm guessing the parcel hasn't turned up yet? I tried tracking it, but it won't tell me anything other than its not been delivered. Hope its not lost in some warehouse somewhere. Xx
ReplyDeleteNo, Gill, the parcel hasn't arrived yet 😢 Royal Mail is rubbish at the moment isn't it. Although if it should come when we're out, our postie is really good and knows where to leave it safely. Hopefully, it will arrive sooner or later and I'll let you know immediately. Enjoy your week, my friend Xx
DeleteI favored the back for the same reason before having to use a chair. All the accessible seats are at the front so these days it is easier to enjoy movies at home. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Excellent cast.
ReplyDeleteI simply can't watch a film comfortably right on the front row and I can never understand why wheelchair spaces are always put there. What a shame.
DeleteYes it was a lovely film
Sounds like you are enjoying a lovely week with many free/low cost activities. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been very busy !!
DeleteBack row of the cinema. 😊 I bet that bought back some smiles and good memories for you both. Great price for the tickets and an enjoyable film. Hope you also enjoyed the talk on glass production on Wednesday.
