Oh dear, I have definitely lost my mojo this last week. The weather has been dull, damp and dismal as well as dark. I have to work at the kitchen table these days and the kitchen faces north, making it very dark. It's lovely and warm when the heating is on but the ceiling light is nowhere near as good as natural sunlight, which makes it hard to match colours for my CS cardmaking. I might need to investigate daylight craft lamps. Does anyone have one of these? Can you recommend a good, reasonably priced lamp?
I did manage to make another 15 simple cards this week, making a total of 30 since Jan 1st. I took them to the shop yesterday and there were just 4 left in the basket from last week. I need to make more of an effort this week although it's difficult to get time to myself in order to concentrate. I like to put on a CD, relax and be alone for a couple of hours. Not easy when I'm constantly on call for "where is X ?" "where did you put Y ?" " do you want a cuppa?"

The weather has kept us mostly indoors again and my joints don't like it. My back is delicate, my shoulder aches, my hands hurt and my knee is numb 😢
On the bright side, our Daughter and Granddaughter visited on Monday to bring Graham's birthday gifts and it was lovely to see them. They stayed for lunch and we investigated GD's new car. It's beautiful; a black MG and very stylish.

I'll be back soon if I can get my thoughts together to write an interesting post !
Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie

I think loads of us are feeling the same, it's a dull grey time of year. I got my lamp off Amazon, very good prices, mine is a few years old, so not on sale now.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marlene, I'll take a look and see what's available.
DeleteIts the time of year plus a combination of old age and aches and pains. Of which I have plenty, having been diagnosed with Osteo-Arthritis. Treated myself to a proper pair of slippers (Granny slippers) as my feet need more support, not cheap but they were in the sale and got another £4 off as joined shop's loyalty scheme. Well done on the card making, you are raising a nice sum for the hospice. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, Gill, I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I've never had an actual diagnosis for my pain but my Grandad had Osteo-Arthritis quite badly and it seems to run in the family. Our GP is quite blase about 'old age' aches and pains and is too busy to take any notice when they are mentioned. I've never persisted.
DeleteWell done on the bargain slippers! I find I need more support for my feet now too and wear Hotter trainers most of the time outdoors and 'proper' slippers indoors :) xx
It has been dull here most days as well. As far as lighting I really like my Ott Light. It is a floor model, but you can purchase table ones as well.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks, Jackie, I'll investigate....
DeleteI'm sorry it's been so dark and dull as far as your weather is concerned. Hope you are able to get a new crafting light that will help. You've made a lot of cards already in January! Hope you are having a lovely weekend and next week will be sunnier and brighter. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Bless. It's Monday today and STILL damp, dark, dismal and foggy now too :(
DeleteAny visit from granddaughters would brighten up the darkest winter day for me xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a real joy to see them isn't it. I miss looking after my GD when she was little too.
DeleteI have that January feeling too. Also aching in my shoulders and I hardly ever get joint pain. My husband who suffers with spinal arthritis is in really bad pain I think it is the damp weather. Gloomy time of year but the days are getting longer very slowly and at least heading in the right direction. I am glad you had a lovely day with your daughter and granddaughter. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, your poor husband. My hubby has Spondylosis of the lower spine and cervical spine too, so I know how you both must be feeling. Winter always makes us feel yuk, doesn't it. I hope your achy shoulders feel better soon.
DeleteTake care and stay warm xx
I don't think that 'mojos' like this time of year, they always try to go into hibernation. I have to drag mine out of the cupboard kicking and screaming most days. ;-)
ReplyDeleteExactly! lol.... ;0)
DeleteI don't have a daylight craft lamp but use a mother/daughter type lamp instead. I used that when I was cross stitching. January has been very wet and grey so far and that is less than cheery. Also there are plenty of coughs and other germs around to make us feel low. I hope this next week is kind to both you and your husband and that the mojo comes out of hiding. Take care x
