I just haven't been able to settle for worrying about things and am not sleeping well at all. The icing on the cake came last week when I was searching the NHS App for my test results and I came across a hospital appointment for the end of this month which I knew nothing about. It was with the eye clinic. What ??? Oh...I thought maybe for my dizziness ?
Just to be on the safe side, I rang the surgery to ask who referred me and was told SpecSavers of Wolverhampton had done it. Well, I have never in my life been to them for eye tests! The receptionist at the surgery was as flumaxed as I was and asked me to leave it with her to investigate. The next day I rang again because I don't want it on my NHS record that I just couldn't be bothered to turn up for a hospital appointment 😠To cut a long story short....there is another patient with the name Angela Green at our surgery and we got mixed up. Now that is scary. The surgery manager rang me back to apologise and admitted that the mistake was theirs. Again, I requested that they cancel the appointment on my behalf and she promised it would be done. The appointment is still showing on my App.......

After a reasonable night's sleep on Friday ( 5 hours for once), I decided to try to relax by crafting some more cards for the Hospice on Saturday morning. It actually worked well and I managed another 14 cards 😊
A sample here:
The cards look nice.
ReplyDeleteYou've done your best to sort out the problem; I had a text a while back to see the GP nurse; when I asked why it was 'for your B12 injection '. I questioned it as I've never had B12 before... again, it was a mistake. Trickier, though, when there's someone with the same name as you!
Oh my goodness. It's lucky that we are able to question these appointments, Kirsten, otherwise I dread to think what might happen 🤔
DeleteThey ought to have robust systems in place to prevent that happening. I hope the OTHER Angela is informed of her appointment in time.
ReplyDeleteI did worry about that, Ang, but the surgery manager said that the other lady 'has been sorted out' so I assume she still has the appointment :0/
DeletePs lovely cards!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ang :)
DeleteWow, that is scary. Glad you recognized the mix up. Your cards are so artistic. I love them. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephenie, I enjoyed reading about your adventures at the games!
DeleteThat was good that you called to check! I was given someone else's paperwork the last time I was at a doctor's office and I called them as it was a breach of patient privacy on their part.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are lovely.
That sort of blunder should never happen should it, Bless.
DeleteAnd...thank you!
That is so bizarre, in the week I got an email from Specsavers telling me they were looking forward to seeing me next week at my booked hearing test. I had not booked a hearing test so was going to ring them to query it, when on reading further it was for an appointment at their Brunswick Place branch in London with an option to press an accept button. of course
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth is happening? This is so common isn't it....
DeleteSorry went a bit wrong there meant to finish it was a scam as we live in East Sussex not London, but that is not good about your mix up with the surgery. Your cards are lovely once again. Take care and hope things are easier for you soon. Sue H
ReplyDeleteIt can be so hard to spot a scam. We really need to question everything.
DeleteThank you, Sue, for your kind words :)
It's a good job you spotted the mistake in time. You've done all that you can to sort it out. These sort of things happen far too regularly as we have found out with Mum being in out out of hospital so often.
ReplyDeleteI need to correct my notes on the NHS app. They have me down as being allergic to eggs, nope only duck and goose eggs, which are easily avoided. But there's no mention of my allery to Codeine!
Good grief... I thought the App was supposed to make things easier. In my case I could so easily have just turned up to the appointment because I thought I had been referred for dizziness! No mention of a Codeine allergy on your App is potentially dangerous :0/
