Spring Has Sprung and Other News.....

This last week has absolutely run away from me.  I can't believe that today is March 1st and the first day of meteorological Spring!  How did that suddenly happen??  Today (Saturday) is warm and sunny, after a very cold night and early morning, and Gray has gone to the allotment leaving me free to catch up with chores and a bit of cardmaking.

During the week I dropped off another batch of 26 cards for the Hospice shop to sell and I've begun another batch as the last lot sold quickly.

As long as they sell at £1 each I'm happy to keep making them until I run out of materials.   As it is, I've spent £10 on some more card blanks so I really can't afford to keep buying bits and pieces in the way I used to when I sold at craft fairs ๐Ÿ˜Œ and I'm using more die cut shapes which I've cut myself to keep the cost down.  It's more time consuming but does use up scraps of card etc

I can also report another sale on eBay in the sum of £31.11 after postage ๐Ÿ‘The money dropped into my bank account this morning, so I'll add it to my total now.

Sell & Save £45.52

This gives me enough cash to buy something for our Daughter's special birthday which she mentioned she would like.  She will be 50 on March 24th.  I don't know how that happened either!
-----------------

Next week we have the Gardeners' Guild meeting on Tuesday evening.  It will be the AGM but they are tempting us to attend with the offer of cheese and biscuits๐Ÿ˜Ž and a coffee of course....

Expenses this month include my car insurance which I've managed to get for £170.96, and we've been notified of our rent increase from April 1st of £15.25 per month.  Luckily, this is less than I envisaged but the buildings cover, which they arrange and over which we have no control, is yet to be decided........

------------------

Now that the weather is picking up a bit, our thoughts are turning to days out.  I doodled a list as follows:

Black Country Living Museum
Cosford Air Museum
Bantock Park
Tewkesbury & The Abbey
A Canal trip
Wightwick Manor (we have a free NT ticket)
The Circus

If I don't write these things down I know we won't do them. None of them will be too expensive, especially if we take our own food, although we might buy a coffee at the venue.
As I cross things off the list, I'll share the trip with you ๐Ÿ˜Š Our best friends are going to Tenerife for 3 weeks over Easter.  They have 3 holidays a year.  We can't compete with that but I can't wait for our day trips to begin......

Have you planned any trips or holidays yet?

Thanks for popping in.  Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie ๐Ÿ’—

  1. I've been racking my brain to remember the name of the museum we used as a cheap lunch stop on the way to catch the Liverpool ferry to NI! The Cosford Air Museum was a regular stop; food not splendid but OK, (last time was 2018) but amenities clean and husband aircraft fanatic and I enjoyed mooching around.

    1. We've been to the museum once before and loved it so I'm really looking forward to going back. It's free entry but about £7.50 to park! Waiting for a sunny day so that we can look more closely at the planes outside.

  2. Loved the Black Country Museum. We went twice - once arriving by the back door - the canal!
No holidays this year for me - although I may have a month with some eating meals out occasionally instead.

    1. Oh gosh, yes, the canal trip on offer there is great too :) Re the living museum: they now have extra buildings including shops and new build (of the time) houses. Can't wait :)

  3. Halfway through our minibreak in Essex. Just had a pootle round Hobbycraft. Certainly not buying card blanks in there! Will try the Works and The Range when I get home [ I'm doing some Spring Crafts with the Brownies. The leader said she will pay expenses ‐ but instill want to get good value for them. Your cards look great

    1. Thank you Angela. Craft materials do seem so expensive now don't they. It's such a shame because crafting is ideal to occupy little kids with. I know my own Grandchildren loved to come and visit when I promised a craft session.

  4. Attingham Park which is National Trust is lovely, we always used to go at snowdrop time. But now we live in the East Midlands, a bit too far. Your cards are beautiful. We have booked a few holidays, venturing over to France, first time for a few years, then Cornwall, Lincolnshire and Northumberland. Fingers crossed our health holds up and the car too. Xx

  5. I love the Black Country Living Museum, we've been a few times, we also both love the Weald and Downland Living Museum, where they film the repair shop, it's been a while since we've been to either, so we need to go back.

Well done with the additional sale, your total has gone up nicely. When did our children get so old,? My sons reached 38 and 44 in February ... I have no idea how that happened when I am only 36. ;-)

    1. Never visited the Weald & Downland Museum although we watch every episode of The Repair Shop. It looks amazing there.

Haha I know what you mean about the kids growing up faster than we realise. My Grandchildren will be 18 in July and 21 in September. I still remember sitting with them on my lap whilst I read to them. Happy times.....
