I mentioned in a previous post that I have been donating my handmade cards to a charity shop for them to sell and that they didn't seem to value them as they were placed on a shelf just above floor level where they could not be easily seen. I took a new batch into a different Hospice shop in the village and my reception was totally different. I placed a basket of them on the counter and immediately a customer said " Oooh,,, are those handmade? May I take a look? I LOVE handmade cards!" She immediately bought 5 of the 25 I had taken in 😀 Both the manager and I were very happy! It has given me a confidence boost, the charity an immediate £5 and inspired me to make another batch to take in next week. The photos below are not very good, I just snapped away at a few to remind myself what I had made.......

Our weekend was really lovely. It was our Daughter's 50th birthday on 24th so she, her hubby, Gray and I had booked a meal in a nice pub on Sunday to celebrate the occasion. There were no kids ( Granddaughter working, Grandson off on a jaunt with his girlfriend) so it was relaxing and chatty. On Monday DD, Son-in-Law & Granddaughter came to us and we had a nice sunny walk to the pub for a cheese cob and a drink. It was another beautiful day and I slept like a baby that night because of all the fresh air 💤💤💤
Oh... and our Daughter loved her special gifts 👍

Speaking of birthday gifts: my next Sell & Save mission is for our Grandson's 18th birthday at the end of July. I made the first sale yesterday of £6.11 Not a fortune, but a start 😉
Thanks so much for popping in. Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗
Those cards are beautiful, I'd definitely buy some. Shop bought cards are so expensive nowadays as well as being mass produced. I bought a mothering Sunday card from a little independent shop last weekend - very nice but almost £4 and nothing really special about it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs LH :) I know shop bought cards can be really pricey.
DeleteBeautiful cards and a bargain at £1 each! Our daughter was 50 on 13th March as was her husband. I’ve just finished a pile of Easter cards for my friend’s charity so fingers crossed they raise some money.
ReplyDeleteGosh we might be a similar age then Catriona! Well done you for making cards for charity too. It's so satisfying when they sell isn't it :)
DeleteI admire your patience making the cards; not easy to geg them really sharp and beat like yours.
ReplyDeleteNeat!
DeleteThank you Kirsten :) I find it very relaxing if I'm alone in the house and can concentrate. I try to get Graham off to the allotment!
DeleteIsn't it nice when your hard work in making those lovely cards is appreciated. Well done on making such an immediate donation to the Hospice charity. I have also been busy selling things, on FB Marketplace in my case, this past couple of weeks I have made a couple of sales that have boosted my funds quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteI know you do have some success on FB Marketplace, Sue, but it's a platform I've never really tried. It IS really satisfying when something sells :) Go you whilst you're on a roll! ;)
DeleteBeautiful cards and always nice to spend time with family. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Gill, and, yes, we really enjoyed it :) x
DeleteThose are lovely cards, I am not surprised that they are snapped up. Pam in Texas.x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Pam xx
DeleteYour cards are lovely, I don't seem to have the patience anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have to be in the mood to get everything out onto the table. And I like to be alone!
DeleteYou make lovely cards and I am so happy that they are being appreciated now.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie x
DeleteGorgeous cards Angie, you are very talented 😍 It sounds as though your Daughter had a very special and wonderful 50th 🥳 Linda
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment, Linda, I do appreciate it. Yes, our Daughter tends to make her birthday last around a week! She really did enjoy several days of celebration with family and friends. After all you only reach half a century once...lol....
DeleteLovely cards!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to your daughter!
