What Did I Do With My £802 ?

When I sold my car just over a week ago I was mulling over what to do with the cash.  I didn't want to fritter any of it away and decided to use some savings to make it up to £1000 and buy some premium bonds with it.  Done and dusted !  They will be entered into the February draw.  Who knows... I might win enough to buy the remaining share of our shared ownership bungalow one day, so that we can both remain here to the end of our days 😊

Or there again... pigs might fly 🐷😂

How are you doing with your Christmas prep?

All the Christmas cards that needed posting have been committed to our rubbish Royal Mail service (we haven't had post for about a week) neighbour's cards have been pushed through doors (carefully where there are dogs at home!) and my gifts have all been wrapped and labelled.   The freezer has been filled with party food and a beef joint for pulled beef baps on Boxing Day.  I have a Sainsbury's delivery booked for 23rd Dec with all the stuff like milk, cream, bread etc  All I will need to buy is fresh salad stuff and the cheap 15p veg which I like to choose myself.  I have a list and think I'm prepared !  Oh...and I have the last batch of cards to drop off at the shop for this year...425 in total for 2025.

How about you ?

------------

Thanks for popping in.  Do stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,

Angie 💗

  1. I have my fingers crossed for your premium bonds, you have 999 more than me, so you definitely stand a better chance than I do. ;-)

I posted my five Christmas cards that needed posting last week, Alan hand delivered to the neighbours, at this house and the new one, and we swapped cards and presents with my Mum and brother. We have a few bits and bobs of food and a couple of bottles of wine and Port, so we just need to go for the 8p vegetables and maybe some last minute little treats. I seem to be very organised.

Your card total for the Hospice shop is impressive, well done. xx

  2. Wow - I reckon you take the record for number of cards made and donated - well done.
The family tend to organise what's happening and then forget to tell me, at least I know what I'm doing for us all on Christmas day!

  3. Congratulations on the number of cards you've made for charity. I have a couple of small presents to get, and racking my brain for something not too expensive and different. All my cards are posted, not so many received this year, probably due to moving, and 2 with news of deaths. 1 cousin on OH's side and 1 on my side, younger than me too. Foster baby is gaining weight, 5lbs and beginning to be like a proper baby, but Iris has chickenpox, we are going over to help so as to keep them apart. Lots of snuggles, feeding and dirty nappies. Take care. Xx

    1. I'm so sorry for your bereavements, Gill, never easy especially at Christmas. Poor Iris :( I remember vividly having chicken pox as a child. It was horrible. Lets hope she will be back to her normal self by Christmas day. Wow, foster baby is thriving! Well done you for helping out. Enjoy your snuggles (but I don't envy you the dirty nappies! lol...)

  4. That is a fantastic number of cards for charity. Such a worthy cause and will have been much appreciated I'm sure.
All my cards have been sent and presents bought but not wrapped yet. Cake is made and turkey is in the freezer. Not much left to do thankfully which means Christmas should be quite relaxed. At least, I hope so.

    1. Thank you, Beverley, I'll continue with my card donations next year too. I don't want to stop when they are selling so well. The last time I went into the shop there were just 2 Christmas cards and 5 birthday ones left. It's very satisfying :)
Homemade Christmas cake is the best but I never have time to make one! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing Christmas with the family xx

  6. Sounds like you invested your money from the car sale wisely. :)
You've made and donated an impressive number of cards!
Christmas preparations are lagging at this end. Some gifts have been bought and wrapped. Others still need to be bought or made. I don't do anything special for a Christmas dinner, although, often we get invited to join family or friends.
My focus right now is the almsgiving I will be holding on Saturday. :)
