While my morning tea was brewing yesterday.....
I popped out to the greenhouse to pick a mini cucumber for lunch. It was dragging the plant down and hardly a mini ! Cucumber number 9 from a single plant 😀 ......
At the allotment we are growing spring onions....
they too look like they're on steroids ! 🤣 but perfect to put in an omelette or quiche. Now I'm just willing the greenhouse tomatoes to ripen for a perfect salad 😁

During the night, I awoke to the sound of pouring rain. At last! We had a good drenching for the gardens which continued right up to around 11am. It's such a relief to be cooler too.
Thanks for popping in. Stay safe and well wherever you happen to be,
Angie 💗
Lovely salads grown your selves - the best!
ReplyDeleteSo tasty :)
DeleteThat's a good size mini cuc, a bit different to those ones they sell for children in the supermarkets!
ReplyDeleteThe plant is doing really well despite the extremes of temperature this year.
DeleteWaiting for our tomatoes to ripen and we have flowers on the cucs. I bought more plants yesterday at the local Carnival, I keep saying no more plants, but succumb. We had a torrential downpour in the night, then mizzle on and off, I managed to get plants in the ground. Then I watched Cam Norrie get through to the next round. OH has given up on the cricket (useless lot). Xx
ReplyDeleteOooh I love a good carnival, Gill, and you can never have too many plants can you ;)
DeleteNow that is a lovely cucumber. Ours are just starting to flower.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It was delicious x
DeleteWow, that's a beauty, mine 2 plants both died.
ReplyDeleteOh no....how disappointing for you. This plant struggled a bit to begin with but recovered and is still going....
DeleteThe cucumber looks great. Home grown salad cannot be beaten, even lettuce has so much flavour and is tender to eat, yum. The best are tomatoes picked warm off the vine delicious 😋. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteOh yes to sun warmed tomatoes ! They have so much flavour and I do love to pick my salad leaves fresh too x
DeleteThat is a perfect cucumber, the weather is obviously suiting your cucumbers and spring onions perfectly. Roll on your tomatoes eh. Alan ate all my red ones yesterday, naughty boy!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish now that we had entered it in the village show on Sunday! Never mind, I bet naughty Alan really enjoyed those tomatoes ;) lol
DeleteGood to see the produce from the garden and allotment being harvested. Long may it continue.
ReplyDeleteNice garden harvest. My cucumber seeds didn't germinate.
