Remember my toilet roll experiment? The roll lasted .....
3 Days ! 😨
At this rate my stash will last 3 months so I won't need to buy more until September.
It didn't help that my IBS has flared up again, which is not surprising considering that I'm worried about so many things right now. Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse, my sister has told me that her husband has been discharged from hospital back to his care home for end of life care. She has been told 6-8 weeks. I feel desperately sorry both for him and for my Sis......

A cheerful foot note:
I am so sorry to hear about your sister's husband. Sending prayers and well wishes to you, your sister, and her husband.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful!
Thank you so much, Bless x
DeleteLife can be so hard, I'm sure you will suport your sister, love your flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marlene x
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Hopefully he is being well looked after in his care home.
ReplyDeleteThree days is pretty good going, don't forget that while mine lasted nine days, they were double length rolls and there is only one of me ... a hayfever nose-blowing toilet roll grabber but still only one. It's a worthwhile study to do though isn't it, as you can now plan how many to buy when you see the rolls that you like best on a good offer.
It's definitely a worthwhile experiment, Sue, as it pays to know how long these packs last!
DeleteRe my brother-in-law: he is in a really good nursing home, more family run than big company but, unfortunately, it's an hour away on the bus for my sister so she can't get there as often as she would like. She is in Suffolk so I can't help....
What sad news for you all to cope with. So sorry.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue.
DeleteI was sorry to read about your bil, hope he's kept comfortable and his wife is able to be with him lots. When we went to Gardener's World show last year, we took a small rucksack with 2 bottles of water, sandwiches and fruit. Although there are lots of items to taste test, to buy food was quite expensive, and as we were moving I didn't buy a thing! Xx
ReplyDeleteYes, Gill, it's a good idea to take food and drink with us. We haven't been to the NEC for years and it was really expensive then!
DeleteThank you for your kind thoughts re my BiL ....
I am so sorry about your sad news, my thoughts are with you. The flowers in your garden are lovely and I hope you enjoy your June treat, something to look forward to. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue
DeleteHeart wrenching news for you all. Lovely colourful petunias and pinks. Good to have something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sooze, I have to have something to take my mind off my worries and the flowers definitely help.
DeleteLike you say, when you are knocked back by devastating news (your poor sister and brother-in-law) giving time to small joys like your lovely flowers can help. Sorry to hear about IBS flare up. Hope it settles soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kirsten.
DeleteI hope you have a good time at the Gardeners' World Live show later in the month. I am so sorry to hear about your brother in law and how awful such news is for the family. I will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beverley, it's really knocked us for six.....
